First words.

It is so awesome to see how Emma’s language is developing.  She is continuing to sign, but says words now, too.  These words, however, are not words that any typical person would recognize.  I recognize them only because I am her mommy and hear them all the time.  ;-)  Here is a list of some words and how she interprets them…

done- dah

milk- coo

more- dah (same as done, but the sign is different)
diaper- dah-DAH (she stresses the last syllable)

eat- ah

banana- dah-dah-dah

apple- ah-dah

fish- she-eeee (I know its fish because she does the hand sign along with it)
cow- tow (it is the word that sounds the closest to a real word.  it sounds just like cow with a T)

sleep- sheee

outside- shhh- shoooowwww (like cow)

yogurt- goh-goo

and last, but certainly not least, her favorite thing in the world…. (Lacey) Pooh- Emma says ‘ooooooooooooooooh’
She loves Lacey so much, ‘Oooooooo’ is the first thing she says when I go see her in the morning.  It is closely followed by ‘Tow.’  😉
She is so precious!  I wish you all could see her!  She is more amazing everyday!

PB&J

Today was a day in history for me. For the first time, I made Emma a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for lunch to take to Kids Day Out. She only started eating PB&J yesterday, so I wasn’t sure if she would go for it. Luckily, she ate the whole thing! Way to go, Emma! Such a big girl!

I’m sure this will be the first of hundreds thousands of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for Emma. I look forward to cutting them out for her in cute shapes and putting surprises and notes in her lunch. It’s so much fun to be Mommy! 😉
